Son of Joseph and Esther Ann Hart. He was a coal miner. Volunteered and enlisted on 23rd August 1914. He went to France on 20th December 1914 and was killed in action on 15th April 1916 by shrapnel shell fire, while saving his horses when serving in the transport section, aged 21.
