British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn at Nottingham and lived at 9 Ridgeway Terrace, Ridgeway Street, Nottingham. Son of Alexander and Alice Harris, of 6 Havelock Street, Nottingham. Husband of Kate Elliott (formerly Harris), of 8, Bulwell Green, Bulwell, Nottingham. He was a house painter prior to enlisting 1st March 1909 at Nottingham. Appointed Lance Corporal 28th July 1911, promoted Corporal 1st August 1912, and promoted Sergeant, 30th August 1914. He went to France 28th February 1915 and was killed in action, 12th May 1915, whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.
