Born in 1885 at Holwell, Leicestershire. Husband of Mrs M. J. Mulgrove (formerly Harding), of 27C, Main Street, Thurmaston, Leicester. He was a labourer prior to enlisting on 4th August 1903 at Newark. He went to France on 20th September 1914 and was taken prisoner on 20th October 1914, neat Lille, France and died at Hotel Eiger, Murren, Switzerland on 3rd December 1918, aged 34, from influenza and pneumonia.
Buried: Vevey (St. Martins) Cemetery, Switzerland. Grave 12.
