Born at Barony, Lanarkshire, Scotland and lived at Glasgow, Scotland. Son of James and Helen Hardie, of 700, Argyle Street, Anderston, Glasgow. He enlisted at Grove Park, Kent and was killed in action, 16th September 1917, age 20, during the attack near Zillebeke, Belgium.
