Battalion: 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Sheepbridge, Derbyshire. Son of Joe and Fanny Hall, of 22, Devonshire Street, Newbold Moor, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner at Grassmoor Colliery prior to enlisting on 29th May 1913 at Chesterfield. He went to France on 25th February 1915 and was killed in action, 5th May 1915, aged 19, whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.
