Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Charles and Sarah Hadfield, of “Recreation View,” Hayfield, Stockport.

Killed in action, 14th February 1916, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the southeast of Ypres, Belgium.
