Private Cecil Hackett

Battalion : 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Shenstone, Staffordshire. Son of Arthur and Alice Hackett, of 4, Railway Cottages, Shenstone, Lichfield, Staffordshire. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting at Lichfield. One of five brothers who served in the Great War, he was killed in action, 28th May 1917, aged 20, whilst on a raid of the German line near Loos, France.

Buried: Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe, France. Plot 1. Row Q. Grave 11.
