Born at Nottingham. Son of William and Alice Guilford, of 14 Gadd Street, Nottingham. He was employed at John Player & Sons, Tobacco Manufacturers, prior to enlisting in October 1915 at Nottingham. He died of wounds on 13th August 1917.

Buried: Etaples Military Cemetery, France. Plot 25. Row M. Grave 1.
