Sergeant George Green

Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born in Nottingham and lived in Newtown, Derbyshire. Son of Walter and Elizabeth Green. Husband of Vellmarina Green, of Winfield Cottage, Newtown. He was a colliery engineman prior to enlisting at Nottingham.. He went to France on 10th October 1914 and was killed in action, 9th August 1915 in the attack at Sanctuary Wood near Ypres, Belgium.
