Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Mosborough, Yorkshire. Son of Albert And Polly Gray, of 5, Simpkins Yard, Bond Street, Arnold, Nottinghamshire. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and was killed in action on 20th September 1914, aged 21, when the battalion was ordered to retake trenches taken by the Germans at the head of the Troyon Valley, France, during the Battle of the Aisne.
