Was a fitter at Ransome and Marles Works in Newark, Nottinghamshire. Enlisted at Newark, Nottinghamshire, 16th November 1914 and went to France 28th June 1915. Killed in action 27th June 1916 aged 20, whilst serving in the line at Foncquevillers, France.
