Private Walter Goodwin

Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at New Tupton, Derbyshire. Son of Charles and Rebecca Goodwin, of 10, Conway Terrace, New Tupton. Husband of Alice Goodwin. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, on 27th September 1918 whilst in the British attack near Oppy Wood, France.
Buried: Orchard Dump Cemetery, Arleux-En-Gohelle, France. Plot 4. Row J. Grave 7.
His brother Sergeant Sam Goodwin, Machine Gun Corps, also fell in the Great War on the same day.
