Born at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, 22nd March 1892. Son of John and Rosamund Godson, of 24, Stoney Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield. Husband of Nellie Partridge (formerly Godson), of 44, Dalestorth Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield. He was a miner at Tibshelf Colliery and enlisted at Sutton-in-Ashfield and was killed in action, 17th October 1918, at Regnicourt, France.
