Born and lived at Sittingbourne, Kent. Son of Charles and Jane Goatham, of 80, West Street, Sittingbourne. Brother of Elizabeth Perkins. He was a brickfield labourer prior to enlisting at Newark, Nottinghamshire. He was killed in action, 8th October 1916, aged 35, during the attack on the Schwaben Redoubt, near Thiepval, France during the Battle of the Somme.
