Private John George Glidewell

Battalion : 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Buckden, Hampshire and lived at Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. Son of Samuel Francis and Leah Glidewell, of Church Street, Mansfield Woodhouse. He was a roller coverer at Pleasley Vale Woolen Mill prior to enlisting at Mansfield. he was killed in action, 27th April 1917, during the attack near Hargicourt, France.
