Born at Sheffield, Yorkshire and lived at Bulwell, Nottingham. Son of Robert and Mary Ann Gellatly, of 82, Broomhill Road, Bulwell, Nottingham. He was an assistant Grocer prior to enlisting at Nottingham. Killed in action, 3rd September 1916, during the attack near Beaumont Hamel, France during the Battle of the Somme.
