Lance Corporal Francis William Gee

Battalion: 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
He was born at Kings Bromely, Litchfield, Staffordshire. Son of Sarah Ann Gee, of Victoria Street, Yoxall, Burton-on-Trent Staffordshire. He lived at 48, Hasland Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire and was a draper prior to enlisting on 14th October 1914 at Chesterfield. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and was appointed Lance Corporal on 9th March 1916. He was awarded the Good Conduct Badge on 14th November 1916 and was killed in action, on 23rd April 1917, during the attack on Fosse 3, Lievin, France.
