Born at Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire. Son of Thomas and Eugenie Gannon, of 1, Central Street, Sutton-In-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner at New Hucknall Colliery, Nottinghamshire and enlisted at Mansfield Nottinghamshire aged 16. He died of wounds 4th July 1916, age 16.
Commonwealth War Graves Commission shows forename initial as D, he was known as “Dick”.
Buried: Bethune Town Cemetery, France. Plot V. Row F. Grave 44.
