Born at Long Eaton, Derbyshire. and lived at 18 York Road, Long Eaton. Son of George and Ann Gamble, of Springfield Park, Sandiacre, Derbyshire. He was a Lace Factory Hand prior to enlisting 5th December 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France 14th July 1915 and died of wounds, 25th April 1917, aged 19, at No. 8 Casualty Clearing Station, Agnes-les-Duisans, France, from wounds received on the 23rd April 1917.
