Born at Clowne, Derbyshire, and lived at 48 Barlborough Road, Clowne. Son of John and Henrietta Froggatt, of 13, Muschamp Terrace, Warsop, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, on 29th August 1918, aged 22, whilst serving in the line near Gorre, France.
