Private Willie Fretwell

Battalion : 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of Charles and Sarah Fretwell, of 9, Factory Street, Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He was a carter prior to enlisting at Chesterfield. He was killed in action, 19th July 1916, aged 19, by German shellfire, whilst serving in the line to the south-east of Trones Wood, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
