Born in Nottingham and lived at 83, Ena Avenue, Sneinton, Nottingham. Son of George Henry and Alice Fozzard, of 3 Radcliffe Street, Nottingham. Husband of Mrs L. Fozzard, of 2, Ambergate Terrace, Meadow Lane, Nottingham. He was a picture frame mounter prior to enlisting on 10th December 1915 at Nottingham. He went to France on 23rd August 1916 and was treated for trench foot at 2/2nd London Casualty Clearing Station, at Grove Town, Meaulte, France (Somme), on 30th December 1916. He was transferred to the 5th General Hospital at Rouen, France 1st January 1917 and sent to England on the 2nd January 1917. He was posted to the 12th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and returned to France on 26th July 1917. He was posted to 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, on 17th August 1917 and was killed in action, on 26th September 1917, aged 28, during the attack at St. Julian, Belgium.
