Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of William Foster; Husband of Mary Elizabeth Smith (formerly Foster), of 18, Goodhead Street, Meadows, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, aged 21, in the attack on the German positions north-west of Thiepval, Nottingham, during the Battle of the Somme.
