Battalion : 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of William and Florence Foster, of 25, Norland Road, Hungerhill Road, St. Anne’s Nottingham. He was a fitter prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France 29th August 1915 and was killed in action, 17th July 1917, by German shelling whilst serving in the trenches to the north of Ypres, Belgium.
