Lance Corporal Alec Ford

Battalion : 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of Mary Plowman (formerly Ford), of Spencer Yard, St. Johns Street, Ashbourne, Derbyshire. He was a mineral water labourer prior to enlisting 7th March 1911 at Ashbourne. He went to France 28th February 1915, was appointed Lance Corporal, 15th April 1915 and was killed in action, 26th May 1915, aged 23, whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.
