Corporal Richard Flint

Battalion : 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Whitechapel, Middlesex. and lived at 2 Midland Terrace, Midland Crescent, Nottingham. Son of Fanny Flint, of 1, Firth Cottage, Bathley Street, Meadows, Nottingham. He was a drayman at Midland Railway prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He served in the South African Campaign, 1899 – 1902. He was appointed Lance Corporal on 3rd September 1914, went to France on 10th October 1914 and was promoted to Corporal on 26th March 1915. He was killed in action, during the attack at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
