Son of Thomas and Gertrude Emily Flewitt, of 77, Musters Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham. He was commissioned 14th September 1917 and joined D Company 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment at Hill 70, near Mazingarbe, France, 1st November 1917. He was killed in action, 7th January 1918, aged 19, during the raid on the German trenches at St. Elie, France.
