Born at Carlton, Nottingham and lived at 1 Main Street, Carlton. Son of John and Mary Ann Fletcher, of Carlton, Nottingham. He was a furniture packer prior to enlisting at Carlton. He died of wounds 25th July 1918, aged 23, at 13th Hospital, Boulogne, France.
