Born at Hyson Green, Nottingham and lived at Long Eaton, Derbyshire. Son of Richard and Sarah Fletcher, of Nottingham; Husband of Beatrice Fletcher, of 25, Preston Terrace, Banbury Street, Meadows, Nottingham. He was a sock trimmer prior to enlisting at Derby. He was killed in action, 20th September 1917, aged 36, during the attack on Bulgar Wood, Belgium.
