Born at Leicester and lived Desford, Leicestershire. Son of Joseph Kilbourn and Mary Ann Flavell. He was Farm Labourer prior to enlisting at Leicester. He died in camp of heart failure 11th November 1916.

Buried: Albert Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
