Born and lived at Barlborough, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of George and Mary Farby. He was a Colliery Pony Driver prior to enlisting at Chesterfield and was killed in action, 26th September 1916, aged 22, in the attack on the German positions near Ovillers, France during the Battle of the Somme.
