Born at Doncaster, Yorkshire and lived at 26 Red Lion Street, Nottingham. Son of John and Eliza Everitt, of 5, Halifax Place, Pilcher Gate, Nottingham. He was a wood yard labourer prior to enlisting 10th December 1915 at Nottingham. He was posted to the 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 7th May 1917 and the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 10th May 1917. He went to France 17th May 1917 and died, 25th June 1917, aged 37, of shrapnel wounds to his right buttock at No. 10 Casualty Clearing Station, Remy Siding, Belgium.
