Born at Nottingham. Son of Albert and Lavinia English, of 17, Knotted Alley, Lean Side, Nottingham. He was a Porter prior to enlisting 27th July 1915 at Newark, Nottinghamshire. He went to France 4th March 1916 and was killed in action, 24th June 1916, whilst serving in the line at Foncquevillers, France.
