Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of Walter and Martha Elston, 5, Wray Terrace, Clarence Street, Nottingham. Brother of Mr. A. Elston, of 99, Pym Street, Nottingham. He was a Grocer’s Porter prior to enlisting at Nottingham and went to France 28th June 1915. Died, 25th April 1917, at No. 7 Casualty Clearing Station of wounds received when a German 8 inch shell landed in the courtyard of Headquarters at Lievin, France.
