Battalion : 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Nottingham and lived at 51, Sneinton Road, Nottingham. Husband of Maria Ellis. He enlisted at Nottingham and served in Gallipoli during 1915. He was killed in action, 26th September 1916, during the attack on the German positions near Ovillers, France during the Battle of the Somme.

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
