Born at Beeston, Nottinghamshire. Was a groom. Enlisted at Worksop, Nottinghamshire September 1914. Went to France on 26th August 1915. Was awarded the M.M. London Gazette on 21st October 1918. He died on 11th October 1918 as a prisoner of war in No. 206 Field Hospital at Landrecies from pneumonia.
