Born at Stapleford, Nottinghamshire and lived at 7 Duke Street, Radford, Nottingham. Son of Edward and Elizabeth Edson; Husband of Betsy Edson, of 15, Scarcliffe Terrace, Middleton Street, Radford. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 10th October 1914 and died of wounds, 1st October 1916, aged 31, at No. 34 Casualty Clearing Station at Meaulte, France.
