Battalion : 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Thomas and Anna Burns (formerly Easom), of 65, Devonshire Street, Shirebrook, Derbyshire. He was a coach man prior to enlisting at Shirebrook. He served in Gallipoli during 1915 and died of wounds, 25th September 1916, aged 26, at Chatham Military Hospital, Kent.

Buried : Shirebrook Cemetery, United Kingdom. B. C. E. 1505.
