He was a painter prior to enlisting 6th November 1915 He was transferred to the Notts and Derbts regiment and went to France 11th January 1917he was posted 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. and was killed in action3 1st July 1917, age 25. in n the attack at steebbeek, Belgium.
