Born 10th September 1896 at Duffield, Derbyshire and lived at Woodside, Cavendish Road, Matlock Bank, Derbyshire. Son of Edward Derrick Dumas and Adeline Heath Dumas, of “Westholme,” Farley Hill, Hackney, Matlock, Derbyshire. He was educated at Seven Oaks,High School, and Cavendish School, Matlock and was an engineering student. He enlisted, on 3rd October 1915, at Brockelsby, Lincolnshire. He went to France on 1st July 1916 and died of wonds on 6th August 1916, aged 19.
