Born at Aberdeen, Scotland and lived at 30 Union Row Aberdeen. Son of James Dufton of Burnett Arms, Kennay, Aberdeenshire. He enlisted 1st March 1915 at Aberdeen and was transferred to the 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and went to France 11th January 1917. He was killed in action, 9th June 1917, by German shellfire whilst serving in the line at St. Jean, Belgium.
