British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn in Riston, Yorkshire. and lived at Newton, Derbyshire. Son of Mrs Margaret Dudley, of Main Street, Newton, Alfreton, Derbyshire. He was a Coal Miner prior to enlisting at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. He previously served at Gallipoli with the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment during 1915. He was killed in action, on 29th October 1917, aged 32, during the German shelling of the trenches near Hazebrouck, Belgium.
