Lance Corporal John Doncaster

Battalion: 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

He was born at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and lived at Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. Son of Thomas and Fanny Elizabeth Doncaster. He enlisted at Nottingham in February 1916 and also served in Dublin during the Irish Rebellion of 1916. He later went to France and was killed in action, 7th April 1917, during the attack at Le Verguier, north-west of Saint Quentin, France.
