Born and lived at Arnold, Nottinghamshire. Son of John and Emma Desborough, of 78 High Street, Arnold, Nottinghamshire. He enlisted at Nottingham in 1915. He sustained wounds at Mailly Maillet on the Somme, 2nd September 1916 and died 11th September 1916 after being transported back to England.

Buried: Redhill Cemetery, Arnold, Nottinghamshire. Plot C, Row U, Grave 1370
