Son of Reuben and Eliza Dennis, of 70, Crescent, Moira, Burton-On-Trent.He enlisted at Swadlncote, Derbyshire and was killed in action 6th September 1917, aged 20.in the attack at Otto Farm, near Gravenstafel. His brother Private William Dennis, Leicestershire regiment also fell in the great war.

Buried: New Irish Farm Cemetery, Belgium. Plot 25. Row E. Grave 13.

He is also commemorated on Bath Lane Moira War Memorial and Church street Memorial, Donisthorpe, Leicestershire.
