He was born at Chesterfield, Derbyshire and lived at Shirebrook, Derbyshire. Husband of Ada Deering, of 39 Station Road, Shirebrook, Derbyshire. He enlisted at Worksop, Nottinghamshire and was killed in action, on 7th April 1917, during the attack at Le Verguier, northwest of Saint Quentin, France.
