Born at Sneinton, Nottingham. Son of Edwin and Elizabeth Dean, of 72 Bathley Street, The Meadows, Nottingham. He was a Lift Attendant at Boots the Chemist Store, Nottingham, prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France 28th June 1915 and died of wounds, 22nd July 1916, at No 20. Casualty Clearing Station, Warlincourt, France.
