British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived at Chesham, Buckinghamshire. Son of Alfred and Sarah Ann Dean, of 125, Bellingdon Road, Chesham. He was a wood painter prior to enlisting 27th October 1915 at Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. He went to France 24th February 1916 and was transferred to the 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 2nd February 1917 and was posted to the 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 15th February 1917. He was killed in action whilst serving in the line near the Menin Road, Belgium, 24th October 1917.
