Born and lived at Stapleford, Nottingham. Son of Thomas and Catherine Davis, of 6 Lot Street, Stapleford, Nottingham. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 1st March 1915 and died of wounds, on 31st January 1917, aged 21.
