Born and lived at Stanley, Derbyshire. Son of Matthew and Leacher Davis, of Stanley, Brickyard, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 10th December 1915 at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. He died at the City Hospital, Walker Gate, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, on 23rd October 1918, aged 24.
Buried: Stanley (St. Andrew) Churchyard, Derbyshire, United Kingdom. South-East of Church.
